is the second largest National Forest in Florida. It lies between the Ocklawaha

A wide array of wild life
is also present in the forest. The Florida Black bear has its highest
concentration in Ocala National Forest. American alligators, white-tailed deer,
and numerous small animals like Virginia Opossum, North American River Otter,
bobcat, nine-banded Armadillo and also the Gopher Tortoise. Hunting and fishing
within the forest is managed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission hence a permit is required to those who would like to do so.
