Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is steep-sided canyon made by the Colorado River in the United States. The Grand Canyon is situated within the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. This place is widely visited by tourist to enjoy hunting or simply to appreciate the magnificent scenery of nature.

The Grand Canyon exhibits the earth geological history that is about two billion years ago. This is shown through the exposed Colorado River and its branches that cut their channels through layers of rocks while the Colorado plateau was uplifted. Forests are found at higher elevations while the lower elevations are composed of desert basins. Its mile-high multicolored rock walls, craggy cliffs and sandy slopes will truly amaze you. Enjoy the wonderful view of nature and perhaps try some of the activities in the park.

There are several ways of viewing the park. For guided tours on land, you can witness the beauty of the place while touching every piece that you see. But for a fascinating view of the area, try the helicopter tour and you’ll be star struck.  The totality of the place will be seen and though you are quite far from its beauty, the view that you will see from up above will surely be the most memorable view you’ll ever have.

The Grand Canyon National Park where the Grand Canyon is located houses several interesting animals, plants and buildings. There are numerous plants within the area and the large number of variety of plants. The place boasts with a dozen endemic plants and ten percent of the Park’s flora is exotic. The park contains several major ecosystems. Five of the seven life zones are present in the area and three of the four desert types in North America. Truly the Grand Canyon National Park is full of diverse beauty waiting to be visited.
