2. Unto the Rich Culture

Costa Rica houses several indigenous groups showcasing ancient traditions, culture and heritage. These government protected land are open for public and can be observed by visitors.  Some indigenous reservations are the Guaymi, Durika, Boruca, Bribi, Cabecar etc.  Here you can witness different interesting traditions from the different groups. Travelers are invited to experience shaman tours and perhaps even enjoy one of the reserve’s delectable chocolate tours.

 


3. National Parks and Refuges

The beauty of nature reflects the country’s attitude toward nature. More than 26% of Costa Rica’s total land mass is designated a protected park, reserve or wildlife refuge. The Carara National Park, Curu Wildlife Refuge, Gandoca-MAnzanillo Wildlife Refuge and Tortuguero National Park are among the most visited sites because of the presence of many interesting wildlife such as the endangered scarlet macaw, colorful toucans, the four species of turtles (loggerhead, leatherback, hawksbill, and green sea turtle), and many more.

4. Hot! Hot! Hot!

There are almost 200 volcanic formations present in Costa Rica. These create a wonderful place filled with healing waters at the restorative hot springs. Interested tourists may enjoy a dip at the hot springs near the Arenal Volcano, Poas Volcano (also famous for its charming cold-water lake) and the Ricon de la Vieja Volcano.
