The Diversity of Brazil
Brazil is the largest
country in South America. This is the only
Portuguese-speaking country in America and the largest
lusophone country around the world. Brazil is the fifth
largest country on earth hence to be able to enjoy a vacation in Brazil it is highly

divided into five regions:
The Vast of the North
The Northern part of Brazil is comprised of the largest state
of Brazil – the Amazonas. Experience a blast

within the area of Pará,
the second largest state in Brazil. Other states located within the North are Rondônia,
Roraima, Amapa, Tocantins

The Color of Northeast

region. Numerous rivers like the Sao Francisco and Parnaiba, exuberant

located here are Maranhão, Piauí, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba,
Pernambuco,
Alagoas,
Sergipe
and Bahia.

manifests a rich culture with their buildings within the old centers of Salvador,

and Olinda.

popular festivities in this region is the festival of São João
(Saint John). Witness this
festival during the month of June and learn how the people from this region
showcase their thanks to Saint John for the rainfall
that typically falls under this time of the year. For a colorful and musical
festivity, witness the Bumba-Meu-Boi festival in the state of Maranhão.
There are elaborate costumes and different styles of music which you will learn
once you visit the northeast region.
The Adventure in Central West
The Central-West
region houses the states of Goiás, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul along with the Distrito Federal where the capital of
Brazil – Brasilia, is located.
Tourists enjoy the
region’s flora and fauna which is a magnificent view of nature. From the
southeast part of the Mato Grosso do Sul, you can see the Pantanal Mato-
grossense, the largest swampy plain area in the world, cut by Paraguai River. From here, you
can tour Alta Floresta, Bonito and Chapada dos Guimarães National
Park where ecotourism blooms and nothing but nature
flourishes. You are also entitled to try great activities such as exploring
caves and rappelling down waterfalls.
The Coast of the Southeast
The southeast
Region is composed of the states of Espírito
Santo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. It is the richest regions of Brazil, for tourism
greatly flourish in this place.
Sao Paulo houses the Ribeira Valley, a Natural
Heritage of Humanity and is regarded as a Biosphere reserve by UNESCO. This
attraction houses a diverse ecosystem and is considered to be a paradise for
eco-tourists. The Minas Gerais, dwells the source of some of the biggest rivers
such as São Francisco, the Paraná
and to a lesser extent, the Rio Doce. In fact there are many hydroelectric
power plants in this region. For an adventure, try some of Brazil’s highest peak
that is situated within the region. The Serra da Mantiqueira, Serra do Cervo,
and Pico da Bandeira are great sites. Rio de Janeiro is the smallest
state in the Southeast region of Brazil yet the beauty of
this place will surely captivate you. The amazing coastline extends to about
635 kilometers and the nearby diverse environments such as the restinga
vegetation, bays, lagoons and tropical forests will make you fall in love with
the place.
A Unique Taste from the South
The southern region
of Brazil includes the
states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. The attractions range
from historic Jesuit ruins of Missões to the sparkling
beaches of Santa Catarina. Though this is the smallest region of Brazil, this place has a
great tourist, economic and cultural people.
The numerous paleontological sites and museums in Paleorrota
gives Rio Grande do Sul a great potential for paleontological
tourism. Gigantic dinosaurs that lived during the Triassic era walked at this
